Free website check for dentists

New patients compare two or three practices on their phone before they call. If your site is hard to use with a screen reader, or Google can’t read your hours, they book with the practice down the street.

What we found on dentists’ websites

Based on 143 US dentists websites we checked as of October 18, 2026: up to 10 public pages each, in a real phone-size browser. Share of sites with each problem:

Automated checks only. They can’t catch every accessibility issue, and they don’t make a site compliant on their own.

The ADA pages that matter most for a dental practice

Automated scans flag the same few problems again and again. On a dental practice website, look first at:

The appointment request form

Every field needs a visible label, every button a name a screen reader can say, and error messages must say what went wrong.

Insurance and payment information

Every field needs a visible label, every button a name a screen reader can say, and error messages must say what went wrong.

Before-and-after photo galleries

Each photo needs alt text that says what it shows, and images should be compressed so the page loads fast on a phone.

The Google data a dental practice site should have

Google reads your hours, phone number, address and map pin from LocalBusiness structured data. For a dental practice the right type is Dentist. Paste a block like this inside the <head> of your homepage, with your own details:

Questions

Does the ADA apply to a dental practice’s website?

The ADA covers businesses open to the public, and US courts and the Department of Justice have repeatedly treated websites as part of that. There’s no single official checklist; WCAG 2.1 level AA is the standard most often cited in demand letters and settlements. This isn’t legal advice.

What LocalBusiness type should a dental practice use?

Use Dentist, a more specific type of LocalBusiness on schema.org. A specific type tells Google exactly what you are, which helps it match you to searches for dentists near the searcher.

How much does the check cost?

The quick check on this page is free and needs no signup. The full report covers up to 10 pages in a real phone-size browser and comes with a ready-to-apply Fix Pack. It’s $19 one-time, or $19/month with ongoing monitoring.
